iJIRA 1.2 In development

iJIRA 1.2 is currently being internally alpha tested, we;; release it to our beta testers as soon as we’re happy that its stable enough.

This version contains a number a of significant changes under the hood and we hope it will solve some recurring problems which users have encountered.

Changes

• Favourite filters view
• Improved SOAP engine, should give iJIRA a smaller memory fotprint and prevent crashes for large data sets.
• Servers with self signed certificates should work now.
  NB The WebKit supplied with the iPhone does not support self signed certificates, because of this Safari on the iPhone and all other apps relying on it for connectivity don’t support slf signed certs.
• Better stability when dealing with large issue sets.
• Create issues
• Delete issues

iJIRA 1.1 Available on App Store

• 3G issue fixed.

iJira 1.1 Submitted to App Store

This still has to percolate through Apple’s approval process. This version fixes the following issues :

• No connection with 3G while WIFI is switched off has been fixed.
• Refresh button added to allow first generation iPod Touch users to refresh issues as the device lacks an accelerometer.

iJira 1.1 Update – 3G Issues

iJira 1.1 will be released to Apple shortly. It will address the issue which many users have reported with connecting over the 3G network. Because of critical nature of this issue the other fixes have been moved to the 1.2 release which will follow shortly after.

iJira 1.1 In the works

Thank you all for the wonderful response to iJira. We are suprised and pleased by how well it is being received. This being version 1.0 a couple of issues have been brought to our attention.

1. Jira servers with self signed certificates
   This is caused by a limitation of the WebKit shipped with iPhone. If your server is behind a self signed certificate iJira won’t work, but neither will anything that utilises WebKit. An easy way to test is to try and access your Jira server using Safarin from your iPhone.
   We are currently testing SOAP access code which doesn’t ely on WebKit, this may solve the problem we should know more int he next couple of days. We will keep you posted here.
2. People with over a thousand issues have been experiencing crashes. Again, we think w know what the problem is with this, and we’ll keep you posted. We intend to deal with this after the issue above, send the update to our beta test team and then release version 1.1 with these fixes and a couple of nice new features.

iJira 1.0 Available in the App Store

iJira is now available on the application store.

iJira is an easy to use iPhone client for the ‘Jira’, issue tracking and project/product management family of products from Atlassian Software.

iJira lets you keep, up with, modify and edit your Jira issues even when you’re away from your computer.

In order to use iJira your server needs to have the XML RPC plugin and SOAP enabled.

Well, the boys have finally done it. Firstly I’d like to say thanks to Elwin and Jerzy for all the work they’ve put in. Its in Apple’s hands now. We’re already working on v1.1 and v2.0.
